STX France to build more ships for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.

May 25. RCCL has signed a memorandum of understanding with STX France to build a fifth Oasis-class ship for RCI and two additional Edge-class ships for Celebrity Cruises.


Big investment for Isle of Man Steam Packet

May 25. The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has announced plans for a GBP170 million programme including two new vessels for services from Douglas to Liverpool, Heysham, Dublin and Belfast along with port improvements and fare reductions.


New cruise terminal for Eden

May 24. Two Australian governments have promised to invest A$44 million in developing the east coast port of Eden into a regular destination for larger cruise ships.


Carnival fights Sydney pollution fine

May 24. Carnival Australia has been fined A$15,000 for violation of Sydney’s air pollution laws but the company is challenging the conviction.


Spirits replacement fund established

May 24. Tasmania’s government, owner of the Bass Strait ferry operator TT Line, is to establish a special-purpose fund to invest in eventual replacements for the ro-paxes SPIRIT OF TASMANIA I and II.


Two Flensburger ro-ro's for EKOL Group

May 23. After last week's announcement of the two Siem ro-ro's for DFDS, Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) has announced that a second pair will be built for a subsidiary of Siem Group.


ARMAS will finally commence operations in Almeria

May 23. ARMAS have announced that starting on May 26, there will be a weekly service to and from Melilla.

May 23. Mols-Linien's CEO Soren Jespersen has decided to resign from his position as from August 1, after a very positive track record.


BERLIN finally debuts for Scandlines

May 23. The wait is over at last for Scandlines with BERLIN, first of two hybrid ferries for the Gedser-Rostock route finally entering service today and with sister vessel COPENHAGEN due to follow and make an autumn debut.


Twenty year milestone for Seatruck

May 20. Irish Sea unaccompanied freight specialist Seatruck celebrated its 20th anniversary in April by setting a new record for total movements on services from Heysham to Dublin and Warrenpoort and between Liverpool and Dublin.

内海造船(株)

川崎近海汽船向けRORO船「富王丸」(11430gt)が、内海造船因島工場(広島県尾道市)で、2016年5月20日に進水した。2016年9月に竣工する見込み。

中禅寺湖で遊覧船を運航する東武興業は、2017年夏に新船1隻を就航させる。全長24メートル、幅8・8メートル。定員400人。
